Can anyone recommend a cheap but half decent pair of boots that I could pick up in town this evening after work? (dublin city centre)

Will be used for tag rugby.

    Cheers!

I'd say just look around the likes of Elverys and Lifestyle sports. You should be able to pick up a cheapish pair of mouldies for less than fifty quid.

Even less. I got a grand pair of Asics for 25 quid recently in Elverys. :)

Well, I didn't want to say less than 30 in case he couldn't find any :) But you'd usually be able to. Once you're not looking for anything too sturdy or snazzy.

Ended up getting a pair of pumas for 45 in Lifestyle in Stephens Green.

Cheap and cheerful but the studs are removable steel/plastic.

    A) Now... is that in contravention of tag rugby rules? (no one said anything last night)

    B) I wonder can I change the studs to plastic? Cos they are removable.

If you were playing full rugby they'd be an issue I think, but for tag you should be fine. Because the ground is so hard during the summer though, you're nearly better off just wearing plastic studs.

When I was in school we were banned from wearing plastic studs as they can get sharp edges etc,is that the current rule in union?

    We wore metal.
