Screen size changed

    Hi folks,
My laptop screen is no longer starting up in widescreen.
It looks as though the screen size is only 14" when the actual screen size should be 15". There is a black border either side of the window. Basically the whole screen is not being filled.

Any ideas what might have caused this and how I can fix it?

Have you updated graphics drivers lately?

Just put it back to the correct size in display properties.

In the display properties I can change it to whatever size I want. It still wont get rid of the black border on the screen.

it sounds like the display drivers have been removed / incorrectly installed. go to your device manager (control panel -> system -> hardware tab -> device manager), look for "display adapters" if there are any yellow circles beside graphics cards listed, you need to reinstall the driver or install a driver. The display adapter should be something like ATI xxxx, Nvidia xxxx, Intel xxxx, etc... x is a model number/type. If there's nothing like that in the name, it means it's using a default windows driver, it will still let you resize the screen but it tends to not fully fill the screen as you've mentioned.
