Help with upgrade of my Dell Insp. 1300

    Hi
I was advised last April that its a good time at the moment to get laptops upgraded. My Dell Insp. 1300 is two and a half years old and while all other installed software works fine, I am still disappointed that I can't play the game Morrowind on it. It is still installed and hopefully I could play it someday if I have a sufficient upgrade. I'm also starting college in September and I would be obviously well prepared with an enhanced laptop.

    My system information:
    Model ME051
    Intel(R) Celeron(R) M processor
    1.4GHz, 504MB RAM

So what are the best options for getting the upgrade?
    I'm based in Clare

Ram and hard drive are the easiest things to upgrade in a laptop.

Someone either meant that it's a good time to upgrade memory or that it's a good time to upgrade in the sense of getting an entirely new laptop.

With a system that old, the onboard video is going to be the problem when playing any sort of games - you have the GMA950, and whilst pretty much horrendous for anything post 2002, should be sufficient for Morrowind. I was able to get Warhammer 40k: Dark Crusade working on it relatively OK with a Celeron and 768mb of Ram, which is considerably more hardware intensive. What sort of problems are you experiencing with the game? I've seen people play Morrowind on it before without any issues.

It is the video card holding you back, however, and it simply can't be replaced - the processor and ram, fundamentals of the laptop, are fine for Morrowind.
