The O2 Experience store in Henry St have a generic brand (Macally), if i remember the price it's about 69 euro, sorry I can't remember the exact price we don't get a lot of people looking for them these days.

Just me being pedantic as usual - seriously though, had it been a powerbook I could have helped you. As it isn't I may be able to repair the cable your mut . . . I mean pet chewed through. Where do you live ? I'm in Swords if it helps and I'm free tomorrow to call out.

Lucky you that it wasnt closer to the adaptor .. peel back the wires and rejoin them (i think there is only 3 wires) use decent insulating tape .. if you can solder it'd be worthwhile worthwhile, but twisting them neatly together works just fine.

I have my macbook running like this for donkeys, then take your time and order a new charger for about 40 euro from china :)

Are there any non apple produced power adaptors available for the Macbook? Any compatible 3rd party suppliers out there?

The magsafe adaptor is patented - Apple, and Apple alone, makes the chargers that use it.

    Sorry but B0ll0x!

I just bought one off ebay, not apple branded just 2 weeks ago .. looks pretty much identical as the normal one just without the apple logo on the side .. and it has magsafe.... maybe not strictly legal patent-wise but meh!

it cost 35 odd inc shipping and I got it in 5 days.

Strongly worded, but fair enough - I didn't realise that people were making clones of them. Bought from Asia, right? I have to safe, that the power lead is something I'd be wary of buying an unbranded knock-off of, but I guess you'd had no problems with it.
