What's the most you've ever spent on Make-up in one go?

Ok, so I went on a bit of a splurge today and managed to spend E450 in one go on cosmetics.

Let's just say that I now officially have enough lip gloss and lipstick to last me a lifetime and a half.

And two days ago I spent over 300 on make-up brushes.. eeeep!

Make me feel better and tell me of all the hard earned cash you've blown on make-up!

Lol I always do that in MAC.. just cant help yourself when you go in haha.

Today I got a bronzer & an eye shadow...the other day I got a new foundation & brush and a few days before that I got some brush cleaner haha

Its a bit of an obsession haha

    Probably about e150 in MAC.

oooh Buttons, which brush did you get? I love the 187!

What's the brush cleaner like? I've been meaning to get that for ages as i'm so lazy when it comes to cleaning brushes! I've read reports that their brush cleaner is a lil hard on the brushes though and as such should only be used every now and again, not with every wash..

Pythia - God easy done isn't it! I could happily buy MAC stuff non-stop!

I think I spent £250 in MAC in Harrods in February of this year, but that was on a whole load of makeup (foundation, blush, bronzer, eye shadows, mascara, lip gloss, etc. etc.) and of course I got soooo many brushes.

I love my MAC makeup collection! :)

The MAC brush cleaner is great, I haven't noticed it being hard on the brushes either!

My problem is more lots of little purchases rather than one major one!

Same here but I did manage to spend €120 in the Dior counter a lil' while ago...:o

Maybe €50. I don't tend to buy lots of makeup at once.

Maybe it would be nice to have a make-up haul thread. Post what you buy as you buy it?

    Brush cleaner? Arse.

That's the biggest marketing ploy I've ever heard! If they're natural bristles, a bit of mild shampoo is your best bet, and it won't cost a million euro either!

Oh my god, €450 - I thought I was bad. I've spent about €150 but usually buy things as I need then, not a load in one go.

Does anyone happen to know how much Dior show waterproof mascara is in BT?

You have to be careful what shampoo you use though as they can affect the glue in the brush. Johnson's Baby shampoo is best, I still use brush cleanser though. It's handy than shampoo cleaning.

the most i have spent so far is about €50 in 1 go but i am planning on having a splurge at the mac/benefit/lancome counters as i am sick of having really crap make-up that just does not work!1 of my friends has a an extensive collection of mac/benefit and you really notice the difference when you use good quality make-up-it's worth every penny!!!:D

I spent about $500 in New York last year, the stuff is like half the price compared to here. Sure, you'd have to:p

I wont have to buy make up or perfume till I'm 60. Mind you the perfume will probably smell rank by then:rolleyes:

oh thank god i thought i was the only one! hmm probably stend around 250dollars in macys mac in one day but it was worth it. i could go months without buying new makeup/clothes

I don't like to buy makeup all in one go, I get a few bits every week or two instead. It makes me feel like I'm spending less money!
But I know I've spent over €200 in a week, mostly at MAC and a bit in Boots. But that was the week of my birthday, so I had an excuse!

I got the Diorshow mascara last night (€27 in Brown Thomas) and I'm not too impressed with it at all. The brush is so huge I couldn't get it on my eyelashes without getting it on my face and even my hair!

yeah only good if you have big lashes! Brush is HUGE!! You could use an old mascara wand to apply it so not to waste it or to stop covering your face with it. hehe

I actually do have long lashes though, but the brush kept hitting off my cheekbones!! Maybe I'll get used to it, I was using a wee skinny max factor masterpiece brush for the last few months so it was a big change.

strobe cream is beautiful, however i do not recommend it as a normal moisturiser as it can be very hard to blend, i apply it over my make up as a stubble highlighter. i apply it by pressing it into my skin. it's also lovely on its own, i like to wear it on its own for my b/f in the evenings after i had a nice bubble bath and we are having a nice romantic evening together. it gives your skin a beautiful dewy glow. to be honest i think if you just bought vanillia or naked mac pigments (imho are must haves) and mixed them with your normal moisturiser you'd get the same desired effect.

two of my favourite lipsticks in the whole world are mac full fushia and mac red russian. (however i rarely get to wear them as they are highly pigmented)
mac lip prep and prime gives a beautiful smooth conditioned base, which most definately makes the lipstick stay on perfectly for much longer. red russian in particular can clump or go cakey after it dries out for a few hours and start to flake off my lips. mac lip prep and prime stopped that. i looby it.

OH. MY. GOD. that is crazy...
make up its not that amazing like what does it do, cover your face?
like why do you feel the need to buy so much, i honestly don't think it's the first thing guys notice when they see you? You could have bought a smaller amount of makeup and bought shoes, a bag, a really good dress and assesories and still have alot left over. You know make up does go off so you can't keep it for ages.

I'm not caked in makeup at all during the day, it's just a hobby i thoroughly enjoy. when i get home from work i could have a shower, reapply my makeup and experiment with colours and texture just to take it off again, it's so much fun. i'm not bothered what guys think but my b/f loves that i have such an interest except when i keep perestering him to try some drag makeup.... he has great cheekbones and it would look great for my portfolio you see? :D

i do have some nice clothes and shoes but i have to say i shop around more for bargains now like the beautiful dress i bought in pennys for 17 yo-yos. lately i've put on weight, for the first time ever i'm a size 12, i'm short too and makeup makes me forget about my belly....

    but yes i know i have a problem.... one that i love!:D
