Cloverfield on DVD

Does anyone own Cloverfield on DVD yet? I'm just wondering how it translates to the small screen. And on that subject; what other movies loses its appeal once watched on a TV/Laptop. For me Children of Men was amazing in the cinema, but once I watched it on a TV it sorta lost a lot.

I saw it on the small screen and enjoyed it. Possibly easier to watch all that shaky cam on the small screen rather than in the cinema.

Waiting on my Blu Ray to be posted from Amazon. Seems they ran out of stock and I'll be waiting another month. I watched some of it on my laptop awhile back and felt that it lost a lot of it's initial impact on the small screenw but at the same time was easier to appreciate what was happening.

Dredging up an old post here.

So I decided to finally buy Cloverfield once I discovered it for €12 in HMV. Just popped it on and watching it now. And I have to say that it has lost its effect now. It's still an interesting film, but what made me as excited in the cinema just isn't now.

I never saw it in the cinema, and i have it on DVD but havnt actually got round to viewing it yet.

I found that the shaky camera style used in REC lost a little bit of effect on the small screen though, so i would guess this might be the same.

E12? You could have got that a bit cheaper if you'd shopped around. Anyway, I thought it wasn't as impressive on the small screen, it loses a lot of its impact. That said, the motion sickness isn't as much of a problem!
