    http://en.battlestarwiki.org/wiki/The_One_Whose_Name_Cannot_Be_Spoken

This is an aspect of the plot (Eye Of Jupiter, series 3) that hasnt been explored since really, in fact most BSG fans that I speak to about this havent even remembered this being mentioned, and I've never seen a thread discussing this as yet anywhere...

Is this going to be a plot point in the whole final 5/one true God/Lords of Kobol conundrum or is it just something they threw out there that is going to remain unresolved?

The way I see it the writers (originally at least) may have been thinking that the final 5 are the priests (or descendants) of this fallen Lord, so is there going to be another character waiting in the wings as this 'One Whose Name CAnnot Be Spoken' ON TOP OF the final 5 or wha'? Or maybe the final proof that the Cylon God and the One True God approach of Baltar are one and the same?

I'm probably delving into this in too much detail for a plot point used only once, but with the religious aspects much more to the fore this season and the final 5 (or 4 at least) now known, is this a strand that will have a bearing on the finale? PLUS, the 13th tribe (Earth tribe) are thought to have built this temple, to a being that the colonials consider unspeakably evil, so is there something big in wait for them once they reach Earth?

PS. This fallen Lord's non-naming, total Sauron ripoff, what would Gandalf say!

Could turn out to be Baltar. (In this cycle)

The 'One Whose Name Cannot Be Spoken' is obviously the One True God/Cylon God. The Cylons and Baltar's followers are monotheistic and the colonies are a polytheistic society. The religious split is the most obvious reason for the thirteenth tribe splitting from the original 12 colonies.

Yeah the single God is the obvious choice, what I'm wondering is will there be an embodiment of this God, or deity or whatever before the end?

One interesting piece I picked up from another site is that in the episodes with D'Anna's visions of the 5, there were 6 flages draped down from the ceiling to each of their feet in certain shots, as if there was a place for a 6th among them possibly?

Not a Cylon I'm sure, but a physical form for this God figure, maybe God will prove to be a tangible presence in the BSG mythos, the same way that the Lords of Kobol were indeed living beings also...

My take on the final Cylon is based upon the following observations and clues (I've added spoiler tags to information gleaned in the most recent episode):
    • The final Cylon is not to be found in the Last Supper promo pic according to Ron Moore.
    • Only four of the revealed Cylons are male indicating that a female will be the final one to redraw this imbalance somewhat.
    • In episode 10 D'Anna confirms that there are only 4 of the final five on the fleet, meaning that the remaining Cylon was on the base ship, 'dead' or had not yet been encountered.
So given the above my guess is that
Cally will be coming back from the dead
    as the final Cylon.

D'anna wouldn't have known Cally was dead when she made the statement about 4 cylons being in the fleet though

Why would anyone want cally to be the final cylon, she's possibly the worst character in the show, I'd really rather she never returns in any way.
