First episode last night, pretty good if uneven mockumentary set in an Australian high school with the main characters all being played by the writer, Chris Lilley. It sails pretty close to the wind when it comes to race and disabilities but most of the laughs come for Mr G the monstrously condescending and delusional Drama teacher, he writes his own material such as "Tsunamarama - a musical drama about the 2004 Tsunami set to the music of Banarama", while the best drawn character is Ja'mie King an over achieving swap scheme student from a private school. However the troubled Jonah Takalua from Tonga is just annoying
Still despite the shaky start I reckon this is one to watch

    clicky

@ MoominPapa where did you watch this? Was it on tv? I have watched the whole season as it out on DVD in Australia. Have to say I loved the show. The first ep was as bit ropey but it gets a lot better imo. Mr G is unbelieveable isnt he. The way he refers to handicapped people is something else.

Jonah annoyed me as well initially but I grew to like him. However my favourite character has to be Ja'mie. I love the way "Everything is so random".. Great show.

By the time I got to the end, I think Jonah was the most likeable of all the characters. You're right about it sailing close to the wind on race/disability/homosexuality but that's the Aussies for you and it makes the show all the better.

Have it on DVD. Its a great show. Wasn't sure if an audience over here would get the Australian humour/stereotypes. Takes a while to get going but Mr. G is just so funny. There's some great out takes on the DVD.

"Oh my god those bins are so random"

"Its so less povo than I thought it would be"

"Studies have shown that most alcoholics and wife beaters come from public schools. Im sorry but its true"

Just some of the gems from Ja'mie in episode one.

I knew BBC3 were going to be showing this but didnt realise it was already on.

Only caught the last 10 mins but it seemed good.

Jonah is a deadly character. He reminds me so much of my south african cousin

Absolutely love this show. So glad to see it on BBC3!

Jonah is definitely my favourite. It just gets better as it goes on!

I just happened upon this at random the other night just as Mr G was explaning Tsunamarama. Stayed watching for the rest of it and found myself laughing throughout. I'll definitely keep watching. I agree with the others that didnt really care for Jonah but Mr G and Jai'me(sp) are classic.

Just saw the whole series of this last night and it was class. Can't believe people don't like Jonah though, by far the best character. Break dancing turf war ftw

Since it's popularity in the UK, does anyone know if Chris Lilley will make another series? I love it.
