Well I was going to answer that only for you stole my avatar :D

Whats your preference - coastal regions or more inland with day trips out and about?

Go easy smashey. She is from Lifford. I tend to make allowances for these things ;)

Me too. Otherwise, I'd have ripped her to bits. :D

    By the way, Dublin2Donegal,

    Welcome.

Think there are over a dozen hotels with leisure centres in the co. Just depends if you want to be in an urban or coastal setting.

Check the filte Ireland website and then we could all give opinions on the hotels you shortlist.

the new solis lough eske is quite nice but i personally think it might be better to visit them in a few months as they still seem to have a few teething problems.

harvey's point is a good stand by as well.

both are in lough eske, only a few minutes from donegal town. the lake is lovely and there's a walk around it as well.

i haven't been myself but the spa in villa rose, ballybofey is well recommended by a few friends who stayed there but i don't know what else you can do there.

go for the Ballyliffen lodge and spa.. I live near it and its just beautiful, and in a beautiful area of Inishowen.

It overlooks the sea and the food is to die for!
