Covering grey, for men

My fella has finally decided to cover up the grey. After months of teasing from me and his mates, his mother mentioned to him that he had a lot of greys so he's rushing off to buy a bottle of dye.

I dye my hair quite a bit but I know it's different when you're covering greys, becuse they're more porous, so is there anything he should be aware of before he starts? Could he use a dye thats intended for females in his hair? Or should he stick with the "Just For Men"?

Yeah, tell him not to do it. He'll look ridiculous.

    Graying looks good on men.

Agreed, as long as they have plenty of hair

As somebody who went grey in my twenties, I would say go ahead if he wants to. I've never dyed it myself, but I can understand how he feels.

One word of warning though: if he dyes his hair long term (and goes really grey in the interim), he'll have to keep on dying it as not to suddenly unveil a head of grey hair. :)

Sometimes it's better just to let nature take its course.

Cheers for the answers guys, Gran Hermano (after the TV show or is that a coincidence?) he would love nothing better than to do that! And he's only 31, surely too young to be grey? Ah, whatever, he's got the dye now anyway but he hasn't used it yet.

I started going grey at 16, never too young! dying doesn't look good on men, far too obvious. Think Marty Whelan
