Pinnacle Video Transfer

    Hi all

We've got a large number of kid's videos - Thomas, Disney, etc. - cluttering up the place and I'd like to make these available for the kids on DVD and, later, for streaming around the house (I have CAT5 everywhere).

Has anyone used the Pinnacle one-box gadget for converting these vids into MPEG4? Can I edit the MPEG after the videos have been captured to remove empty space/add indexes etc. - any recommendations for this?

I have a decent core2 duo laptop with a DVD burner and a couple of external drives, but my desktop is just about finished and I guess wouldn't have the horsepower to encode.

    Many thanks
    Alan
