Was really looking forward to this but it looks like it's gonna be a massive cgi-fest

Great for James McAvoy (sp?) though

I think it looks like iy could be a good 'eye candy' action movie.

And not only is Timur Bekmambetov directing, but with Konstantin Khabensky making an appearance, I'm really looking forward to this.

U.S Industry tracking is very low for this, a mid 20m opening is expected at the moment. Won't be a hit by any means, personally I was put off by the ridiculousness of the trailer ("and the other one is right behind you", stupid car/train stunts, curving bullets, morpheus morgan freeman) and pointless glorification of violence, as I suspect a few more were. Definitely should've got a Spring or Autumn release, it'll be trampled. And Angelina Jolie sells magazines, NOT movies

+1 from me. I think people are being way too harsh on this. Give it a feckin chance people!

Looks fun to me - from the director of Night/Day Watch which is a fairly positive sign. It'll probably be ridiculous, OTT and stupid - but still looks like an enjoyable ride.

    pointless glorification of violence

get the boat would ya? where you just looking for something to fill out your comment with?

I'm not imagining anything spectacular as Angie is one of the most wooden actors ever but then that seemed to work for Keanu in the Matrix. I just hope its more like the matrix and chains together a lot of excellent action scenes and less like Equilibrium which pretty much blew its load in the trailer and had nothing else unseen in the actual movie itself.

The new Red Band trailer is daft as a brush, only copped the bit where McAvoy smacks a guy with a keyboard and the keys in the air spell "Fùck you" *cringe* and I still find the whole bullet-curving thing naff!

Looks soooooo over-the-top but I'm still not interested in it. I'll hold me opinion until I see it, I suppose!

prime example of nuking the fridge

personally I wasn't looking forward to this but now I can't wait... I thought it was going to try to be a serious action movie. Knowing now that its going to be nothing but absurdity makes it all the more appealing.

    Whats nuking the fridge?

I presume it's got something to do with cleaning the ol' fridge out, no?

I believe it's a running joke in relation to the new Indiana Jones movie. :pac:

Wow. That does look quite cool. A bit like Night Watch. But American, without the cool subtitles, and minus the werewolves/vampires thing.

    Uh.

It does look like it's going to be quite enjoyable though.

Looks absolute crap but girlfriend is dragging me to it anyway. I'm all for OTT action movies, but this one just looks so tacky and cheesy to a point across that very accommodating line.

Tbh I'm really looking forward to this as it has the potential to be this years Crank or Shoot Em' Up. Action films in recent years have begun to take themselves far too seriously and rather than relishing in OTT bloodshed it's all moralising and examining the effects of violence on the individual. Add to this the trend for making them kiddie friendly and you have yourself a recipe for disaster.

Wanted looks like pure bunkum but it promises to be entertaining bunkum with plenty of gun porn and bloodshed and at the end of the day, what else do you want on a Friday night after a long week.
