ok, so i've got a nokia n95 which i don't use while over here as roaming charges are more expensive than using my us phone obviously.. but i was thinkin' the inbuilt gps would be a great asset while driving around la..

so i tried loading it up yesterday without using the network connection (gps is free??) but it was no use..

i take it i need to d/l some other software or maps etc so i was wondering if anyone had any experience with this type of thing and could point me in the right direction..

    cheers,
    nick.

Yeah you need nokia map loader. Its on the bottom of this page

    http://europe.nokia.com/A4984199

Just install it and follow the instructions and it will load the US maps to the phone. Easy peasy. You will have to pay a subscription fee if you want voice guidance, think its about €7/ month.
Or you could use Garmin XT for mobile phones. Thats what i use. Think its about €50.
Not sure how the extra maps work for that though. probably have to pay for them:confused:
