TNA's Demographics

I must have missed this originally, but I just read it now. About a year or so ago it was reported that TNA's biggest audience was boys aged 12-18. WWE's main audience has always been men aged 18-34. But now it seems like TNA's main audience are a lot older: http://www.wrestlinginc.com/news/2008/526/tna_324771.shtml
In case you're wondering what TNA's strongest viewer demographic is, its 50-year old men (and up) as apparently they enjoy the slew of women and references to several year old wrestling angles the most. For instance, the 5/15 show drew a 0.87 overall rating with 1.1 million viewers, but the 50 and up Male demo drew a 1.02 rating. In comparison, the show did a 0.62 in Males 18-34 and 0.56 in Males 35-49. TNA's weakest demographic appears to be Women 18-49, and by a wide margin. Impact drew a 0.21 rating with them for the 5/15 show and a 0.18 for the 5/8 show. The 5/8 show also drew a 0.97 in Males 50 (and up), 0.69 in Males 35-49, and 0.55 in Males 18-34. The show did a 0.91 rating with 1.2 million viewers

That's all lifted from the Wrestling Observer

So basically Impact gets around twice as many men over 50 watching it as guys aged 18-34 now

Their PPV purchases skew even higher to the older crowd.

    Love Daves "cheap shot."

None of this is surprising as the writing is full of hate for women, latent homosexuality and playing to the big timeness of WWE.

    Did anyone see Slammiversary?

Would have thought Eric Young's search for the King would have been the perfect time for the return of The King of the Mountain Jeff Jarrett but hey i'm not a writer

    Solid effort though

Haha all the dirty old men watch TNA

Breaking News: TNA Worker Killed After Slammiversary
    06/09/2008 by Ryan Clark

    Source: WMCTV.com

A TNA crew worker died last night after falling 15-20 feet while disassembling the metal stage that was used for Slammiversary. According to WMC-TV in Memphis, the crew member was working on scaffolding, which collapsed. The incident occurred shortly after the event went off the air.

Local police and fire department workers arrived quickly and the TNA employee was was rushed to Baptist DeSoto hospital in Southaven, Mississippi. Unfortunately, his injuries were too severe and he died at the hospital.

Another TNA crew worker lost his thumb in the scaffold collapse but is expected to recover. The names of the men involved in the incident have not yet been released to the public.

That's quite tragic. Wonder if it'll be mentioned on air.
