Converting Tapes to cd

Anyone know if theres a way to convert tapes to cd?

the other thing is a cable that goes from the headphone socket of your stereo to the line in socket on your pc...which is the 3.5mm line in jack,,, and then you use free download Audacity to record wav and you can change that to mp3. the cable you might get in maplins, peats or any electrical store. the cable has to be stereo - or it won't work. then you use your pcs cd writer to make a cd.

Google-ing wouldnt help me much because i dont really understand these things so i wouldnt know which would be suitable and best. If you want to close down every thread that could find an answer somewhere else boards.ie would be a very lonely place.

ah cmon now googling tape to cd converter brings up loads of products.i hardly think its a hard one to figure out.its not really that complicated.
im sure the link someone posted was total mumbo jumbo coz if you can understand what he told you i think youd have faired out just fine with google

if u have an old tape deck off like a stack hifi, it will have a red and white phono lead connector on the back for audio out i think, my old one does.

you get a phono to audio cable i think its called (you can get it in the likes of peats)

at one end will be the phono connector, which is either white and red or black and red, and at the other end of the cable is a connector which looks the same as a headfones jack from ur ipod whatever.

the headfone jack end of the cable goes into the sound in port on ur motherboard or soundcard, i tink its color coded blue if my memory serves me well.

then u need the software to rip the audio.

i personally used to use music match when i was doing it. lots of free alternatives like audacity that was mentioned.

if u cant hear the audion on ur pc when everything is hooked up check your sound settings on ur pc and make sure line in isnt muted..

thats not at all what you said seannash. not even close. you've changed your tone now haven't you. your first post is there for you and anyone else to read - you can't change it by wishful thinking.
If you want to be a smart pr1ck know it all, then have the balls to be one, and don't back track so quick when your pulled up.

i told him that if he understood what you wrote,anything google threw up would have been just as easy to understand.

I think this could go on for ever....since your in denial. You jumped into a thread with someone asking for advice with the not very original and very usual - google is your friend - smart arsse response.
Just accept it. Admit it to yourself. Its not hidden from anyone else. Theres no need for you to hide from it. We're all human, Ive probably been a smart arsse myself at some point in my life somewhere, maybe once or twice,,, although I'd never admit it to anyone.

Google, yahoo, altavista.....just search engines. On a message board you might come across someone who had your exact problem and have researched it. You can benefit from their experience. Their succece and setbacks. Maybe they have a technical background, or special knowledge on the subject your looking up. I've benefitted from this on countless occasions. I've also helped out othere people on many occasions. Theres no problem sharing ideas. The only problem arises when a little f@ggot looser like you pops up trying to bolster his ego by slagging off someone whos in the dark on something to make yourself think your a big man when in real life your afraid of your own shadow but you pretend to be something else behind a keyboard.
