Anyone fancy meeting up at the end of July or Spraoi weekend in the Waterford area? Maybe do the coastline, mountains and some other shizzle. If so stick your name down and we can see what we can do.

Would you like to attend the meetup? 14 votes

Need to know the dates, unfortunately as am trapped in Dublin all of July, and will be probably in northern Spain start of August.

The last weekend of July or the weekend of 16th August are probably the only options for myself.

Harvest time, I would love to go but cant say for sure till much closer to the day. After the first weekend of August I would definitely be out.

More Eastlering meetups? How about something on the west coast, or midlands at least!

In fairness, meets are up to whoever wants to put one together......

That's only the first step - its getting people to come along unfortunately that makes it. I have tried to set up Southerly meetings on many occasions and they just never took off. :/

No but what I'm saying is if someone in Waterford or Cork wants to organise something down south, that's up to them. Can't expect them to organise one in the west.

exactly, would make no sense, generally people will try a meet in the area their in because they have an idea of a few things that people can visit

Sorry! That sounded a bit whiney alright!!!

I dont expect Ken to be organising something outside his area.

Im just bemoaning the lack of photo opportunities around here over the last few weeks!! :o

I've been at a loss for where to go on day trips for a while. Maybe some long distance driving is in order!

Hmm so this went off topic all of a sudden. Like some people said, if you want to get one in your area then put up a suggestion. There's no harm in asking people if they want to meet up in your area. That's why I did this. I went to 2 in Dublin and none down here in Waterford so I put the idea to the people to see if they're available.

The Spraoi weekend is August Bank Holiday but I'm in Belfast that weekend. 2nd or 3rd weekend in August if that suits anyone?

Spraoi? Does the world need another pic of a fella on stilts blowing flames out his ass? :pac:

That's why I try to avoid the place when Spraoi comes.

QFT. Something more bucolic and rugged may be in order. I guess whats needed is a locale which offers some diversity around a hub location (featuring a watering hole/cafe) with a thematic er theme.

What about a ramble round Lismore words in the late Autumn? Its stuning when the trees "turn" and you have things like the Victorian follys, plus the castle across the river and Lismore itself. Obviously a sunny day is required for best effect.

Lismore is definitely on the hitlist so we could defer the meet until late September

Late Sept is way too early, best weeks are last Oct and first Nov. Thats when the golden glow is at its peak at this latitude.
