Advise on where to get customized clubs

    I'm gonna get clubs fitted and at the moment I'm leaning towards ringing Fore golf for an appointment but am open to suggestion. Basically Im a hacker with a starter set of spaldings but like to think that I can play a bit for a 23 handicapper but my weakness in tee box play. Would a club pro or McGuirks be just as good as Fore golf even if they haven't quite got the equipment as Fore golf, or with my ability do I really need an elaborate customization fit. Im in the north west and am 6 3" btw.

    I wouldn't spend the cash on getting a full fitting as off a handicap of 23 your swing wouldn't be the most repetitive.

    I reckon getting a basic fitting off the like of McGuirks would do for the moment and save you €100 or so. And spend that on a few lessons which will help more at the moment.

    Then as you see yourself dropping in handicap then maybe think about getting fitted as by then your swing will be stronger, hopefully more repitive and would give you a better gauge of what you need.

    a mate of mine is going to a golf coach and is getting his clubs custom fitted after completion of 20 lessons! Hes going to a coach,not a pro, which should be noted, your man went to the US for a couple of years and studied all there is to know about golf, including,custom fitting! he is based in clondalkin community centre and apparently this coach is working minor miracles! my mate has gone from shooting in the low 20s to the mid 30s in the space of 6-7 weeks! the custom fitting should make a difference, no matter what handicap! make is playing off 21!
