I have the above laptop 6 months. Even though I use a mouse and never used the touchpad it seems to be a bit dirty around the touchpad and the silver part in front of the keypad.

I don't know why cos my hands are always clean and it is very well treated. Maybe it is fading from my palm resting on while typing?What would I clean it with?

I was gonna suggest compressed air but might not be of much use...

The same has happened me, tis basically from your hand/wrist resting on it

nothing to do about fading. cleaning dirt and smudges though, use a baby/screen wipe.
