B&B: Need to book in advance??

We are heading out tomorrow (Sunday). Not sure where. Probably Donegal, maybe Sligo. As it's a longish drive we may decide to stay overnight. Usually we book B&B accomodation well in advance. Would be probably be ok just turning up and asking if they have any vacancies?
