airport extreme on mac pro, whats going on??

    just went to install airport extreme on mac pro, cant find the slot where it should be, or i can and its the wrong size. cant find a bean of support on mac website, and another instalation instruction on a third party website for an older card... whats going on?

    Which card do you have? The Airport Extreme card sold on the Apple site isn't compatible with the Mac Pro. The Mac Pro takes a different card which Apple doesn't consider to be user-installable.

    Where did you get the card?

    A bad decision by Apple to give 2 completely different cards the same name - utter confusion on the whole matter now.

    The MBP Extreme Card looks like this:
