check this out. It is possible, dont think all that proxy stuff is neccessary. just go network connections, right click your 3g dial-up icon, properties, internet connection share. plug in PS3 (ethernet). should work.

Im with Three so my connection is to haphazard to get decent ping (terrible gaming). Vodfone seems better, but it probably depends on location (as some people seem to have no problem).
