hands free phone kit

I saw a bluetooth hands free kit in tesco for 29.99 euro. I need a bluetooth enabled phone? And do I need one of the silly things on my ear? I cannot recall the name but it has a speaker and i think the speaker is also a microphone so maybe I do not need the thing on my ear??

Do these need to be fitted to the car and can they be removed to a different car. Sorry so vague want to get a hands free to stop having to pull over when phone rings

well, The First thing you need is A Bluetooth phone, (most that came out in the last year have bluetooth Built in)


The one in tesco should be grand, its a Around the ear one. I personally like them. some people hate them.

Once you have both, your (normally) just turn the headset on, turn bluetooth search on on the phone, and then scan. the Pincode (if asked) is usually 0000, (check the manual)

Once they are "paired", call a friend to test. if its quiet, increese the volume on the phone till you get the Desired sound.

I am not sure if it is around the ear one. I hope not. It does not have an earpiece anyway from what i could see

sounds like the unit you have doesn't need an earpiece, Motorola and Nokia do similar kits, and the sound is not fantastic.

If your going for a bluetooth phone make sure it's got stereo bluetooth (A2DP) & a data cable in the box...

if you want a cheap good usefull car kit i'd recommend one of these...great for playing your tunes through your car speakers.....not out to long

That Parrot device looks nifty. I am in the market for a phone kit myself and wonder would this be a better option over the standard nokia car kit where you sit your phone into a cradle. IT will be going into a 06 Nissan note sve version which I dont think comes standard with bluetooth.
Will be getting a new phone so really looking for the best solution, any networks doing free carkit offers

The parrot 3100 is a good kit i've one for a couple of years, the advantage of parrot over the nokia kit is you can use any phone with a parrot while the nokia means you'll have to stick with nokia phones....Parrot is the best option..

I'd go for a stereo bluetooth one if you's getting one..

Nearly any phone with Bluetooth will work with a Nokia 'kit...


Also, we're at about 10 times the OPs budget at this point!

Only drawback is you can't charge your phone and use the car kit at the same time, besides that it's an excellent budget kit.....

If you don't want to spend that much, i'd highly recommend this motorla option, set you back €40 on ebay....excellent budget option with good sound....tried and tested

Cheers lads for all the suggestions. I presume the nokia carkit is the only one that also charges the fone??. ITs for herselfs car and she never remembers to charge here fone when in the house. Who sells the parrot gear here or do you just order online from the uk

A Nokia carkit will only charge a nokia phone.
If you want to charge a different phone you need to get a cigarette charger or a hard wired carkit to match your phone manufacturer.
