    Thursday June 12 at Wax:

'As High As The Sky' Album Tour:

The Mole [Wagon Repair - Montreal]
    Eddie Brennan [Electric City]

    Admission - e12 / e 10 members

We're going Jamiroquai with the underground sounds of Vancouver's The Mole taking residence in Electric City this Thursday. With his 2006 'In my song/Acadian' being signed to a Sven Vath mix and a part time collaboration with Paddy from Cobblestone Jazz as the 'Smokin Posties' releasing their first remix on itiswhatitis, things were heading in the right direction for The Mole. 2007 saw further standout releases on Wagon Repair and late in the year a relocation to Europe, where he'd spent much of the summer months touring. Now 2008 heralds even greater things as The Mole releases his debut album 'As High As The Sky' on Wagon Repair and prepares to tour around it across the globe. Plus there's the release of singles for Prins Thomas Full Pupp imprint and there's plans afoot to create a crate diggers wet dream of a 7" label with fellow Canadian Koosh, code named Sticky Fingers. With a crime-fiction writing mother who also appeared in Rentaghost, the Mole was always going to be a prime suspect for the underground high-life. Get down to find out just why The Mole is one of the hottest artists around today.

Back on warm duties this week after a long break is Eddie Brennan. With a schedule that makes Barack Obama look like he is on the dole, its no wonder Ed hasn't played since March. Those last few months saw him do more gigs than Aslan and in some nicer venues too while still keeping the tag of EC's fittest resident by cycling over the Wicklow Mountains with five hardrives strapped to his back. You can easily see why he is our Captain Fantastic when EC FC take to the field at the annual Bodytonic 6-A-Side next month in Camp Sportsco.
