Would anyone here know where I could get rear seatbelts fitted to my classic? I know they're not a legal requirement but I'm keen to get some.

You could do it yourself. Just obtain a set from a scrapyard (inertia real ones are usually best), drill some holes in the car, tap out some threads and then bolt them in.

If you want to fit seat belts for safety, do you really want to get them from a car in a scrapyard?? Scraped car, safety.... do these really go together?

You will be safer getting NEW seat belts from a company like Securon (they dont retail, ask them for a reseller) or even better: http://www.fdts-seatbelts.co.uk/ I strongly recommend the latter: they did a wonderful job for me and not more expensive that alternatives. Also, options and choices are limitless!

    Very good advice.
Also, It's possible that the mounting points are already there.
I fitted 3 point inertia reel belts to the rear of my 74 Triumph stag, from a kit which I purchased from a marque specialist.
The threaded mounting points for lap belts were already in situ and the kit explained how to easily install the upper mounting points in the rear shock towers.
    cost was only about €60

Thanks for the advice folks. I wasn't sure if there was an Irish company that fitted belts, whereas I know that there are various places over the water that do it. Just nervous about doing it myself.

The belts would be for a either a Triumph 2000 or a Dolomite. I have the option on a Mk1 2000 (still making my mind up) which I wouldn't expect to have mounting points already in place. I know Dollies do so that would work out fine and I think you can buy belts for them from Rimmers or TD Fitchetts. I certainly wouldn't go down the 'scrapper' route. Belts and brakes are 2 things I wouldn't mess with!

I have a Mk1 2000 in the garage and a workshop manual for one, I'll check tonight to see if it can take rear belts.
