Actually once upon a time I and others knew our neighbours could depend on them and vice versa if something happened now no one knows anyonewe lie almost in a sheltered existence in an urban enviroment

And why is it societies fault you aren't talking to your neighbours now?

Once upon a time most people I knew were unemployed, corruption was rife and The Catholic church ruled with an iron fist, and many families pain and misery was hidden away due to some warped form of propriety.

I'l take knowing my neighbours a little less, please.

And do you honestly think corruption has changed?

Nice straw man argument there, pick the one thing in an array of such which you can find fault with.

Has corruption gone? No. In this age of free information, are we more aware of, and more likely to get satisfaction and justice for corruption? Of course.

Generally speaking i strongly dislike this materialism everyone seems to be possessed with,it never leads to true happiness in the long run

Yup it sucks rather large donkey balls, and is rampant. But thats what expendable income does- gets expended.

It might be less than perfect but it's certainly a much better state for our little country to be in than 20, 30, or 40* years ago.

    Mahon tribunal?

Would you rather it never came to light, so? Because thats the ol' boys club old Ireland alternative.

not at all there are far better alternatives for it:)its a rather huge waste of tax payers money to be honest

Yes, but there was nothing a few years ago, so now is better than then, right?

shame the benefits of such a wonderful economy seems to be in the greater dublin metropolitan area eh?

Yes, but its better than in the past, so now is better than then, right?

Still strawman arguing... Ireland is better now for alot more reasons than cash flow and tribunals.

I'm happy to have a break from it. You try to ignore it but there were constant reminders.
