I fancy Chinese White for the Oaks.Very impressive in only her second lifetime start and it's unlikely Weld would send her over without good reason.Looked like she would improve from that outing and looks tailor made for 12 furlongs given her pedigree.

I wouldn't be overly surpised if Cape Amber turned the form around with Lush Lashes as she also looked like she'd benefit from her first run of the season and will probably appreciate the trip given her pedigree.

Havent really looked at the Oaks at this stage

The Derby is wide open. Not totally convinced on Welds horse as I think too much is being made of his victory in the Derrinstown (the second was highly touted but has since been seen to be very poor).

The interesting horse for me is New Approach (though I may not bet on it or anything). Bolger is not sending this over for the crack and is one of the clued in trainers in the business. This horse is the highest rated in the race and while beaten twice this years its been by a very good miler (Henry the Nav). Maybe New Approach needs the extra distance....

If there was no mention of the word soft in the going, I would lump on Katiyra today but I'm not sure the ground will suit her. I may have a small bet on Chinese White cos, along with that said above, her stablemate beat Katiyra in Leop.

Derby, haven't a clue at the moment. Thought Welds was impressive in Leop but wouldn't be surprised to see an outsider win it as its fairly open. R Moore for Stoute maybe.

    Bah Michita let me down.

The big one today - any of 6/8 could win this. I think I'll take a punt on two Stoute nags. Tajaaweed
    and Doctor Fremantle.

    Mike.

I gotta go with Khandarr Run, an outsider but the race is too open to lump anything big on this race!

Hmm, I keep seeing Tartan Bearer being highlighted, I may switch from Tajaaweed.

Yeah, that result hurt. Backed Tartan Bearer in a treble and of course my other two selections did the business. Not sure if I was more bothered because of the horse that beat him or not. Jim Bolger is off a lot of people's Xmas card lists this year I'd say

Credit where it's due though. He was a class two year old and won a nice few quid on him last year. Had always fancied him for the Derby until his "withdrawal" in April. I supose somebody got alue for him which is nice. 5/1 for a horse that would have been around about 2/1 if he had stayed in the original betting.

I also see somebody laid him at 210 for £27.50. Ouch

Nice to see New Approach win a big race.Of course I wasn't thinking that yesterday as I backed Tartan Bearer but now I can see he was just outclassed by a better horse. It would not be a huge surprise to see a turn-around in the Irish Derby if they both turn up.I think the Curragh's slightly more emphasis on stamina might suit Tartan Bearer a bit more plus he is still very lightly raced and probably open to more improvement.Anyone else think Ryan Moore looked a bit like Fallon in the last few furlongs?

Depends what you mean? I though Moore gave Tartan Bearer a good ride. I was even saying out loud "fantastic ride, Ryan" until I saw New Approach sneak up the rail

I just meant his riding style and not necessarily whether it was a good ride or otherwise. However I agree he gave the horse a good ride.
