o.k i'm on the hunt and want to buy 2 technics 1210mk2 turntables with a set of cartridges and 1 Pioneer djm 400 mixer. Might also be looking into buying some furniture (Dj stand) and a record box would do no harm either. I'm looking for the best price available and want to order them asap.

Soundsaround and soundworks are two websites i've looked at. Any others that you guys could recommend?

    Thanks

I think Thomann.de are the biz. Maybe not for what you need but I found them to be excellent when I made a purchase...excellent repairs & returns policy.

Thanks mate i'll have a browse. This place decks.co.uk looks good. They do a package deal that so far beats any other prices i've been given. I spoke to them and there is an additional £40 for delivery but even with that it's still very good Here

I've hundreds of records and continue to buy vinyl. Why?? Stuck in my old ways. Thats just the way it is mate. I do have the behringerBCD3000 and the ICUE mixing station but not pushed on them at all. Matter of fact i played it about 3/4 times and is now gathering dust under the bed but at the same time i wouldn't sell either of them.

Aquarius sound and lighting are probably the cheapest in Ireland, thats where I got my CDJ's, I would also think of the Musicstore DE Germany. Don't be put off because they are not in Ireland, they have an Irish Rep and deliver throughout Europe. I had stuff dispatched here within three days. They also do the decks you want and they are alott cheaper than most places in Dublin.

yeh its understandable, i just sold my 1210's and a djm600 before xmas for next to nothin, got myself a laptop and the bcd3000.

still have hundreds of records in my house gatherin dust, have a tonne of classics i spent years building up, now just sitting there, shame really!

might buy one of them cheap usb decks and start ripping them to mp3.. would take a long time though.

everywhere still chargin around 10€ a record?

bought all my new releases off juno, and all my classics off htfr, robbin kunts though.

I would be very slow to get rid of any hard copies. I have all my cds ripped onto MP3 but still would not do a gig without having decks as back up.

I got my first CDJ MK2 deck three years ago from Nial, it was about 4 months after that before I could afford the second one. I didn't take them out for another two months until I could afford the flight cases. Its not worth getting any of this stuff unless you can afford to case them (Unless you keep them permanently in your bedroon) I still see idiots carrying them around in cardboard boxes.

Somebody mentioned http://www.thomann.de and I have to agree with them with this lot being good. I've purchased a few things from them now. Delivery has been great (ordered a Pioneer DJM700 on a Wednesday and was there Friday), prices are better than most other places and best of all, they off a 3 year warranty on all the products sold through themselves. If you email them with any queries, you usually get a response fairly snappy too.

Thats what i liked about decks.co.uk. The communications were very good and very prompt once the order had gone through. I wanted to buy from soundworks but after unanswered queries through email and numerous phone calls (which i also left my name and number to cantact) they didnt bother getting back to me. Shocking stuff really when you consider it was business that was there for the taking.

A few of my mates living over in London use http://westenddj.co.uk and say that these are pretty good.

The reason I personally go for Thomann myself is the 3 year warranty that they provide at no extra cost and I've never seen them beaten on price either.

Sounds like it was a shame for soundworks. I can't stand waiting around for ages to get a email reply from anywhere. Their lose anyway and your happy now so all good.
