I think they're a really good idea. Friend of mine bought about a dozen of them and put them on each table at the reception and told everyone to snap away. She got some really good, unposed, candid pictures.

Of course she also got some dodgy crap ones, but put a camera in front of a group of half scuttered men and odds are one of them will want to try to stick it down his pants...

Yeah thats what I thought, that I'd get a load of really cool shots of people at different tables and of course the odd 'down the pants' one :-)

I suppose you would just have to put somebody in charge of picking them up for you.

Yes! Pick a bridesmaid or groomsman probably! You never know what eejit is going to think "cool, they're giving away free cameras at this wedding" :pac:

what we always suggest to couples is bring a stack of blank cds, a stack of pre addressed and stamped envelopes and then ask the guests to copy their photos from their digital cameras onto the cds when they get home and post it to you

they normally leave them on the tables so people find them when they sit down to the meal

generally better quality pictures and a lot cheaper than disposables and their developing

    hope that helps

not that much but that digital would be horrible qulity.

most people bring their own good quality cameras to weddings anyway, getting a copy of those photos is the idea which i often recommend to couples

Go for it.. Friends of mine had a cam per table at their wedding and I thought.. hmm... but he convinced me to do same.

In fact, after the dinner he took charge of finishing off the remaining snaps, collected the cameras and got the prints developed.

Those snaps are way better than any of the noisy digi cam images we got from other guests. Well worth the investment.

We got Kodak cams from boots - they have 2 for 1 deals ever so often.

We had disposable cameras at each table for our wedding. Now we have a stack of undeveloped cameras lying around for the last ages. Does anyone know where is the best place to get them processed and put on to cd?

we put some on each table for our wedding in september, we collected them afterwards and i got them developed the next day, it was actually really funny to see the photos! some of the photos had been taken of the night time! some great shots!
i got them on ebay, it was €18 for a pack of five delivered and they came with a little card stating that ' you were to catch memories of the day and leave behind you', something along those lines that you left with the camera. you can get them in all different colours and styles! great idea though!

Great idea thanks, getting married in three weeks and a friend had suggested bringing a laptop and card reader, but the logistics management of it would be a nightmare. The cd's sound a lot easier.

try the pound shops as well - I saw some here in galway for 2 Euros each (not sure about the specs of the camreas) - but worth it for the fun! ;-)

Beware of where you buy them. I bought mine on ebay. It was a box of 10 for something like €30 and they looked fab. They came in wedding boxes with a little standup card for each table. Great I thought! However, the quality was absolute sh!te. I was mega dissappointed with the outcome but then everyone sent me the photos they took with the digital cameras so I was grand!

instead of CD's you could look at SD cards

if you had someone sober to look after it you could bring a laptop and upload onthe night

I dunno about you but sounds like alot hassel!!

Besides - Cds can be got soooo cheap for loads. SD cards would be more expensive and people might not like putting the SD card in their camera and lose their own. Also popular cameras like Sony dont use a SD card they use a memory stick and some use XD cards so you might miss out on people.
