    Cool - you get 'notifications' when things like people add you as friends where your PM total is above.

    Its quite cool, but will take some getting used to.
    The invite only thing on the groups is the only thing I can see a problem with, I can see people getting pissed off it..giving out about cliques etc.

    Is this another move towards boards.ie 2.0? I kinda like the way this is an old fashioned bulletin board. Some of the new features are handy, I'm not against any of them, but it would be nice to keep the focus on the forum aspect of the whole thing. I think most of us have enough "social networking" outlets as it is :)

    Don't mean to sound bitchy here by the way, and don't wanna belittle the great work the admins are doing. On the whole I think the new features are a good thing, I'm just curious if they're gonna change the way things around here work in a major way :)

    I don't like the fact that "social groups" could be used to set up hundreds of private mini-forums though, would that not detract from the main content of the site?

    tis on the green one too. handy, although tbh i'd prefer the popup. i've gone weeks without noticing similar notifications on other forums. top right hand corner is an area that is rarely looked at on websites...
