Im interested in doing a trip from Darwin to Alice Springs using the famous Ghan train and a tour guide. Does anyone know of any decent tour companies who would do say a 5 day trip? Is it worth doing?

Have to agree with Xylocaine I thought Alice Springs was a bit of a kip to be honest, but visiting Uluru is well worth it if you`re down that far.Don`t know if you can still climb it or not but when we were there(96/97) people doing tours were literally running up and back down, whereas we could take all the time we wanted.
