Best watercolors ?

Hey,

I'm looking to get a birthday present for my girlfriend - she is an incredible artist, but has not been painting for ages as we have had no time off, but today she expressed an interest in buying some new watercolor pencils !

I've tried my handing at drawing and art of all forms, but...I'm a complete failure at art, so I know nothing about the differences between different pencils/equipment ! I am very interested in sculpting though, so I know that theres a huge variation from one kind of putty to the next, so basically what I'm asking is...what would be the best set of watercolors I could get her ?! (Sorry, I went on a bit there!;)).

I have no idea what kind of price range these things go for, so....I'm not really sure what a reasonable price limit is ! Sorry

Cliff notes : Looking for a good present for my girlfriend. Want some watercolor pencils. What would you recommend ?

I have used faber-castell watercolour pencils and they are quite good they have a brand call Albrecht Durer which are very high quality also. The ordinary pack of faber castell cost up near €20 for 36. But to get a good range of colours I would go for a larger set.

Ask in your local art shop and they will point you in the right direction to artist quality watercolour pencils...

The Faber Castell pencils are excellent. I would also recommend them.
In the event your local art shop doesn't have the Faber Castell watercolour range my daughter recently had Daler Rowney Artists Aquarelle pencils. These were top class too.

We prefer both the Faber-Castell and Daler Rowney ones over the Rexel.
