info: Thank you for holding. Your estimated wait time is 6 minutes. Looking for answers while you wait? Visit our Online Help section at http://help.neteller.com, for answers to common questions.
info: You are now chatting with 'Christina'

Christina: Welcome to our live chat service. How may I help you?

Brendan Curran: my account seems to have been closed?

Christina: Before we proceed, may I ask your security question please?
Christina: What is your Fathers middle name?

    Brendan Curran: XXXXX

Christina: That is correct, thank you.
Christina: At NETELLER, we value our member's security. Last time a sign-in
attempt was made on your account, we could not verify your location. As a precautionary measure to protect your funds, we automatically suspended access to your account. I can restore service to your account immediately but please note that any future use of an IP proxy or anonymizer will again automatically suspend your account.

Brendan Curran: I don't recall using one of those, but I guess mistakes happen
Brendan Curran: may have been my connection or something

Christina: May I ask if you logged in from a different location than you usually do?

Brendan Curran: no, always use my home pc, was having connection problems though, I may ring my ISP and see what was happening

Christina: Thank you. I would advise you to contact them before you attempt to log in to your account again, to avoid more complications.

Brendan Curran: it seems to be fine now, showing as Dublin Ireland as usual

Christina: Perfect, thank you. Your account will be opened immediately.
Christina: Is there anything else I can assist you with?

    Brendan Curran: thanks a lot

That was earlier, it still isn't open. Anyone else have this problem before?

It happened once when I supposedly logged in from another country but it was opened immediately once I went onto live chat.

    Hassle them again tbh.

They check what ip address you log in from. If it is different form the usual one, they may lock your acount.

On to them for the 3rd time. Keep being told it has been reopened, unable to access it still though

info: You are now chatting with 'Suyapa'
Suyapa: Welcome to our live chat service. How may I help you?

Brendan Curran: My account had been closed earlier due to IP address problems. I've since been told twice that it has been reopened. I'm still unable to access it however.

Suyapa: One moment please while I review your account.
Suyapa: One moment please I am going to verify with a senior agent.

    Brendan Curran: ok, thanks

Suyapa: Your patience is appreciated. I will be with you shortly.

    Brendan Curran: ok

Suyapa: Your account should be fine now. Is there anything else I can assist you with?

Brendan Curran: I still can't access it

Suyapa: Please log off and then try to log on again.

    Brendan Curran: still no luck

    Suyapa: One moment.
Suyapa: It is always closed because of the IP proxy issue. Could you please contact your IP provider or change your modem otherwise we will be openin
Suyapa: Sorry, we will be opening your account and the system will close again due to IP Proxy. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Brendan Curran: IP Address Location: Dublin, 07 Ireland Your IP address is 213.XXX.XXX.XXX
    Brendan Curran: Proxy: None detected

Suyapa: Please contact your provider and explain the problem you are having the will be able to help you out.

    Brendan Curran: ok

Suyapa: Is there anything else I can assist you with?

Brendan Curran: no, without account access there really isn't a lot I can do

Suyapa: I apologize for the inconvenience.

Brendan Curran: I'll contact my ISP now and get back to you guys

    Suyapa: Thank you.

I haven't found them to be the most user friendly crowd ever. Tried to upgrade my account last summer, finally received a micro deposit on the second try, and submitted it to them. This was last November, and the next stage a rep is supposed to phone you to confirm your details. Finally received the call yesterday, woohoo!
Out of curiousity, I asked why it had taken so long to phone me back. They said they had tried to phone me last December, but got no reply, lol. (pretty sure they didn't, and they definately didn't leave a voice message)

I don't think they know what they are talking about to be honest. My IP address is listed as originating in Dublin, as it always has. I don't use any anonymizing (is that a word) software or sites. While I understand that IP addresses are sometimes routed or mistakenly appear to be based somewhere else they are maintaining that it is happening each time they reopen the account. I'll get onto BT tomorrow but I doubt they'll have any answers.

Thought I'd post the outcome in case it comes in handy for anyone else.

Performed a Master Reset on router. Simple as that

Your provider is routing you through a banned country (arf arf), without informing you previously.

    Not much neteller can do.
