    They've (the UK) had Tv shows for a while and there's still no sign of that here...

    If Microsoft could bring movies here, why can't Apple? It couldn't be too difficult to get the rights to a few more countries.

    Oh, I know. But what I was saying is why couldn't they get the rights for Ireland and France and other countries along with the UK and Canada?

    The distribution rights for TV/Movies in each market need to be sorted out locally according to issues such as censors certificates, relevant distributors, copyrights and royalty payments. As each iTunes store is unique to it's relevant market (And laws/deals), issues needs to be sorted out locally before it can be launched fully. To illustrate the point, TV 3 would be the rightful distributer of some ITV shows in Ireland (Coronation Street for one) so it must be ensured that exclusivity deals are not broken; equally some artists don't allow their music on iTunes for their own reasons.
