I have seen live bands and DJ's carrying anything from laptops to mixers in these Lidl/ Aldi cases, I use them for carrying patch cables. When I was packing my equipment the other day the handle broke off and spilt its contents over the ground

Luckily for you it was only a few cables. I suppose it could be said you get what you pay for. Not having a dig mate just stating what seems pretty obvious.

    Nice carpet, kinda trippy ;-)

That was only for illustration purposes as I did not have a cam with me at the time. :) It actually happened on the tarmac loading up after a gig, what was more frustrating looking for small bits and pieces that rolled under the van.

I have four of them, all retired to storing excess cables, dismantled laptops and house hold junk. I would prefere to use a cardboard box on the road rather than these, at least you know when the arse is going to fall out of a card board box :D

I bought a aluminium tool case from Halfords. It had the dividers inside, but I found if I removed all but one of them my KAM mixer fitted perfectly. I put one right at the end to put the power cable in as I am always looking for the right one! I have my 00DJ in a laptop backpack as that is the only thing big enough for it. I don't want to buy the PCDJ case as it wouldn't allow me to transport it, and also it is designed for a 19" mixer which mine isn't.

I have my amp in a case, and use a briefcase for my portable DVD player, and bit and pieces. But the best thing I bought was one of those toolboxes on wheels that separates. I use it for my speaker cables, cable reels, and multi socket blocks.

Similar thing happened with one I bought in a reputable place about 10 years ago.. handle just came staight off.. So rivet gun and a new leather handle was promptly installed!

I wouldn't be too worried about putting the OODJ in a flight case as it is built inside a hard shell itself. Cheap flightcases look tacky, if someone is going to hire a DJ for e300 to do a wedding and the guy arrives with his gear inside a few battered up e15 Lidl flight cases it dose not look very professional.
