My use poker tracker mainly for stats overlay while playing and the odd time to search for the biggest losers.
Is this normal would you say, or do you use it more for looking over your past sessions, looking at what hands you make/lose money with at and generally trying to improve your game?
Or do you use it just to track your bankroll or for some other use that I haven't mentioned?

Personally I use it for HUD, recognize at a glance who's playing what way. Also love the way it instantly shows what hands were played when a hand goes to show-down.

Use it to plug leaks aswell, mainly making sure I'm not playing too loose/tight/passive, and also to take advantage of the leaks of others.

all of the above.... but most importantly for HUD I would guess

I'm still not sure what the stat bb/100 is all about. What's a good/bad figure for this?

I only recently purchased this software and I think it's well worth the money. No longer do I have to manually input the little details into an excel file as this keeps a record of everything. After 2 days of using it I looked at my positional play and saw that I was getting involved from UTG way too much (not far off the button stat!). Over the next two days I got this figure down to half my button stat so I'm pleased with that.

both, although the longer you play for there are less noticeable leaks so I guess overlay is the priority

I use it to check my stats, l ook for leaks, to check out how other people play and to review all big hands that occured in every session

+1, great for the hud especially, HM is very accurate and detailed.

Can I datamine ipoker tables on PT3?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,364 ✭✭✭Mr. Flibble

Cheers lads. I figure most people use it more for stats oerlay only the longer they have it.

Dirk, BB/100 - anything positive is good. Anything above 4 will mean a progression through the levels at a reasonable speed imo. It will be of course be harder to have a high number at higher levels so a 'good number' is hard to judge.

You can't mine [iPoker] with PT3 on its own AFAIK, you need 3rd party software. EyePoker or, ahem, my own personal favorite, Gold Mine (see sig).

I use PT3 for the usual - finding fish, HUD etc. Also spend a little time reviewing each session, usually hands where I won or lost big to see if I could maybe got more money in or lost less on the hand. I don't know if PT2 had this feature, but I really like the ability to graphically replay hands as I find reading through lots and lots of HHs can be boring sometimes.

Mr. Flibble, I datamine FTP with PT3. Just open the max tables (18) and make sure it's set to import saved hands...

I'm contemplating purchasing Eyepoker at the moment, do people feel it's worth the price? Is it easy to run with PT3?

I could leave it running while I'm at work during the day and late at night (I presume this is what people do).

Yeah it should pay for itself pretty quickly
The only issue is now everyone seems to have it so tables with fish can get a big waiting list pretty quick

Cool. I'll be using it primarily for data mining so table selection isn't a huge thing (although I'll look into using it). How hard is it to set up with PT3? Should I back up might database just in case?

I have the trial version of eyepoker, going to buy the full one when a bonus comes through on a site I don't even play on anymore.

What are the limitations to the trial version, will it stop working soon? As it seems to be working fine for mining atm...

AFAIK there are no limitations with the trial version! It works for a week or so and then asks for a code to be entered. Once ya enter the code it starts working again. Mine lasted for 10+ days if i remember correctly.

I started using this tread on PT while i was deep deep in the tank at 2+2.
Found out I was doing everything bad. But in saying that I find its a good starting point to getting to know PT better. PT has all your hands you ever play if you used it right, thats a wealth of info just there never mind opponents. any ways here it is.

I think the link is somewhere around here aswell.

I use mainly PTO but to be honest, I had a nightmare with it giving me incorrect figures and being unable to graph properly
New machine now so do I need to buy again?

Oops, I meant to say you can't mine iPoker with it.

Overlaying stats are less important to me than reviewing hands and looking back on your progress throughout the year

No DeadParrot, you don't need to purchase again. I recently purchased a new laptop myself. Assuming you still have the registration code from when you originally purchased the software, just download PT again on your new machine and use the same registration code. It's licensed for two computers apparently. I would imagine it's because a lot of peoples would use a desktop plus a latop

I am doing the opposite at the moment (I'm using it really only for opponents' stats) and know I'm really missing out on the best use of the software as a result - using it for self-analysis has to be the most important thing you can do with PT.

Does this happen to anyone - Load up a few tables, have PT3 running, have the HUD on, and it randomly shows up players stats that aren't related to the players at your table? And then it'll show the stats for your players every 2 mins but just for a second?

What are peoples gripes with auto rating players?
