From what I can see NTL seems to be better value than SKY (even if you don't get quite as many channels)

Are there any alternatives to NTL or SKY? (I want Sky Sports btw)

    Thanks.

If you want sky sports theres no alternative. On which is better value bear in mind the sky equipment is yours from the start and after the minium period usually one year is up you can use it to view free to air channels free of charge. Where as with ntl once you stop paying they reclaim the equipment.

It can't be the best if it's the only, over priced, choice.

May advice would be to go with Freesat and go to the pub for the big games.

    Freesat doesn't have
    UKTV
    Discovery
    Nat Geo
    Sky Sports
    Sky 1/2/3
    Virgin 1
    LIVING
    Paramount
    sci- fi
    C4+1
    DMAX
    FX
    ... The list goes on

BTW How much is the pub:)

How you work that one out is anyone's guess.

It's overpriced. But that is nothing do do with how good it is.

Personally I'd have to be paid well to actually watch most sport so have no interest in Setanta, Sky Sports etc. But I know a monopoly when I see one.

Ermm... it's a bit like asking who has the best space shuttle.
The Answer is Nasa, as it's the only one. Though it's overpriced and obsolete. Russia's tin can is cheaper to run to the ISS and the new ESA space truck when fitted for people won't be a shuttle either. But it will carry more frieght (without need for people) or carry people cheaper and possibly more safely.

I suppose you objection is a bit like Alice's to being offered "more tea" when she hadn't had any. Technically Alice was wrong. More is More than none.
