Does anyone know where I can buy one of these for the cheapest price? It doesn't matter whether it's "online purchasing" or "your local shop purchasing". The best deal I have found so far is €195.99 on Play.com (Free Shipping)

    For sound quality - A+

For ease of use - A+

For getting music onto - A+

For getting video onto - E (appallingly needlessly difficult)

Just did a quick search for you, here's a support page on the sony site for FAQ's. One of the FAQ's is "What are the video file formats the player supports?", you can find this question and it's answer by clicking on the "Function / Characteristics" tab.

Here is an image of the provided answer: sonya828videoformatsiy4.png

Follow those guidelines and you should have working videos.

Was this not covered in the user manual?

    UPDATED:
I just downloaded the manual there because I thought it was strange a company as prestigious as Sony would not inform the end buyer what video formats were supported, I was under this impression as result of this comment you made in another thread:

...Sony, you absolute retards, why WHY WHY make it so difficult to get video onto this thing?

I've downloaded videora and tried every single video format possible and it still won't play them.

But, on page 154 - the first page of the "Specifications" section - the supported video formats and subsequent video requirements/settings are listed.

Hope you can sort out your video troubles now, sorry for the longish post but once I did a bit of reading I thought I had best post my findings for others benefit from.
