    Hi guys/girls,

Just looking for a bit for a bit of a recommendation. Heading to that states on my own for a trip in July - arrive in Washington on a friday evening and dont have to be in NY till monday morning (meeting friends from then on in NY and Bos) but just wonder . . . . how long would u spend in Washington? Is it worth leaving early to see Baltimore or Philadelphia? Am I cutting it fine with giving it just a day around washington and a day somewhere else or would I be better off just staying in Washington?

    Sorry for all the q's

    Thanks
    D

2 days is enough to see 90% of the main sites in DC, so friday evening all day saturday would enough in DC. you can walk around the main part of the town from lincoln memorial to capitol building in a few hours.

Philly has a few historic sites so a day there might be a good option

Yeah, I'd definitely recommend a day in Philadelphia. Very nice city and a lot of historical stuff to see and they are all pretty close to each other..

Not much to see in Baltimore to be honest... Its also a bit of a kip...

    Hi
I am staying in DC for a few nights then I'm coming up to NY but was thinking I might stay a night in Atlantic city for a night.
Would you know a decent hotel there and any comments/views you have on Atlantic city would be cool..cheers

W.C. Fields once said "Went to Philadelphia the other day and it was closed". Obviously he had never been to Baltimore.

Seriously you could spend a whole day just looking around the Smithsonian in D.C. before you look at any other sights. Phily is not great and as Third_Echelon said Baltimore is a Kip.
