Just looking for opinions or a definate answer if anyone knows.

A lad who plays in our club, he's off scratch or 1, entered and played in the Euro Pro Tour event that was recently held in Faithlegg Golf Club. Is he now a professional or can amateurs enter and play as amateurs in these events.

He could still be an amateur, you can play in the open or masters as an amateur and keep your status after all.

His amateur status would end if he accepted a monetary prize??????

Well, I know he didn't do well in it anyway.

As far as I know he can't accept any prize money. It's the same in big professional tournaments. For example when Justin Rose finished 4th (or whereever it was) in the British Open he couldn't accept any prize money. There is a limit to the value of prizes in all amateur competitions.

Watching this on SS today and was amazed by the number of players that were actually carrying a bag, I thought that pushing a trolley would be far less taxing and hence allow you to produce a better performance, granted the bags that they were carrying were not the 'tour' variety

Hmmm I carry my bag. Reason is I can do things like clean my clubs, arrange stuff in my bag, etc, and walk to my next shot all at the same time. Saves time basically. It's not really much more taxing. Aparently there's nothing worse for your back than pulling a trolley up a hill (I've no idea where I heard this so it may or may not be true!).

I heard about pulling trolleys also is the worse. One thing I heard is that you are always using the one arm which can cause problems in your swing as a result cause one arm is working harder all the time and can cause your swing to get worse as the round goes on
