Chorus is analogue only in ashbourne, and you can get sky sports on it. Ntl was available here for a while via mmds - not sure if that still holds now they are part of upc.

Set top box allows the signal to be decoded, same as digital is decoded/decrypted.

theres plenty of people around the area that have ntl mmds....give ntl a quick ring and ask them if its still available in the area! make sure they know your asking about mmds, cos they'll tell you digital isn't available in the area.

Also, if you go here, you can check what ntl services are available at a specific address.
