CD Ripping Problem - Audio CD being read as blank

Hi guys, not sure whether any of you have come across this before and it may be something pretty simple but basically i'm trying to rip a CD to my pc. This is an audio cd which plays perfectly well on any CD player I've used but when I insert it in my laptop or mac desktop it is being registered as a blank cd and I only get the usual options - ie "how do you want to prepare this blank disk?"etc.

The disk itself is a rewritable cd rather than an original so I don't think copyright would be an issue.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated....

    Thanks.

The disc probably needed to be finalised and isnt, try ripping it in another computer or finalising it in one, it may be easier trying to rip it in a windows pc and burn it onto a standard CD-R for reading in the mac
