What is ping,is this good or bad??

    I was hoping someone could tell me what this ping is.My mate told me find out my ping to see is my connection good which is 84 on one test and 111 a few minutes later.
    Is this good or bad as I don't have a clue?!!!!

    ping is a tool to calculate the time it takes from a packet or data from one node on a network e.g. your pc and a server.

    VOIP and online gaming is the only real concern here

    for gaming ideally you want to be around 25ms but anything below 100 should be fine.

    VOIP i would think anything below 100 will also be fine.
