Photographers & venue Laois area ?

    Hi im planning on getting married in the summer of 2010 i was thinking of having the reception in The Manor Hotel in Abbeyleix has anyone being to a wedding there is it a good venue was the food ok etc. Also can anyone reccommend a good photographer & videographer that won't break the bank ! ! ! :confused:

    WOW, nothing like really planning ahead but congrats anyway!!

    I shoot weddimgs myself (hint ;):D) and have not shot any weddings at that location before but had a quick look at the web site and it seems pleasant enough.

    The majority of people will not have 2010 pricing put together as of yet so dont be too surprised if you have a delay on that front. The alternative is that people will give you 2009 pricing and add a % on top of that.

    The Manor Hotel in Abbeyleix is a nice place for weddings since they put on the extension.
    The heritage in Portlaoise is one of the most popular.
    As for photographers check out Gibbons photography

    Cashel Photography are really reasonable and there's a guy called David Wilkes' who is meant to be really good too.

    Hi Ashlynn,

    I was at a christening a couple of weeks ago in the Manor and I thought it was a lovely place. The function room was lovely and the food was very nice. I have heard from a few people that the food can be a bit hit and miss. However, apparently the staff are very helpful and I think once you make the point about the food then they wont let you down.

    I e-mailed David Wilkes about photography for our wedding cause he had no price list on the internet he charges no less than 2500 euro, that is just way over our budget thanks for trying to help but he is just too dear :(

    Sorry just heard that David Wilkes was good. Cashel Photography will be way less around 1000 I think.
