My wii died.......

I got home from work last night wanting to unwind with a few games of Mario Kart on the Wii but it wouldn't turn on. Completely dead. Kaput. Now I figure that it might be the power cable. I bought it from Germany on eBay and one of my mates said she had the same problem with her power cable. I tried changing the adaptor, etc etc but still nothing. The only thing is I don't know 100% that it is the power cable (although I am praying that it is).

Has anyone else come across this? Anyone know of any places selling Wii power cables so that I don't have to go to Nintendo and wait a month for a new cable?

Can you borrow someone else's power cable just to verify that it is the problem?

the only person I know of with a wii is on an exchange in France at the moment and she won't be back until July. gah! d'ya reckon one of the stores might test out a second hand cable with it if I asked really, really nicely (Reeks of a long shot but anyway...)

Not a long shot at all. They won't give you a cable to take home, but you can take your Wii in there (just the console) and ask if they can plug it in for you.
