I was asked to take some behind the scenes photos at a shoot for Rock the Vote, was wondering if people would give me some C&C on some of the shots?

    Ideas on post processing?

The colour in no. 1 is great, but I dont like the crop, i'd like to see more of his other eye.

Also would like to see the top of here head in 3.

Interesting black to white, tall to small, transition going on in no.2, I like!

Just my opinions, take them with a massive grain of salt! ;-)

(#1) Nice but I would have liked some interaction with the photographer. Also i think the way his left eye is half out of the frame is a bit distracting. Lots of people think red as a background is too distracting but i think it works well here. Maybe you might consider taking down the red channel slightly for the traditionalists, depends on where it is going i suppose ;) I think the focus is on his shoulder, not his eyes, which is a bit of a techie gripe for a portrait. even though we can't see his eyes, as viewers that is where we will look first in a portrait.

(#2) I like a lot. The only small thing i would have done is swap the left and right people around. That way you get the contrast of her white shirt against the dark wall, and likewise his dark leather jacket against the concrete of the street. But I like the bokeh a lot!

(#3) Is nice , but is the weakest for me. The gloves are interesting, i'd like to see them all. she looks like a bubbly person but i don't think you captured that 100% in the image. I like the posing and again the bokeh is lovely (what lens did you use?). Image is pin sharp. I don't mind the small portion of here head that you've omitted. Did you shoot her sitting down under the blue billboard that you can see in the background in image #2?

    Thanks guys.

The lens is the 50mm f1.8, was my first time using it, so I think thats where some of the issues on pulling focus and the tight crop comes from.

And none of the photos are cropped, thats the full image I took. Must try to "zoom out" a bit from my subjects in the next set.

    Thanks again.

I like the crop in #1 but I think the red is too vibrant, might be worth scaling it back.

Love number one! I like the vibrancy. These bands are all about that kind of buzz. Maybe fiddle around with the contrast, increase the blacks in it. But I think it's a great picture in itself.

The dirty Epics pic could have done with a bit of a better background, but nice group shot. Pity you didn't get a pic of herslef on her own. She's stunning and very comfortable infront of a camera from other shots Ive seen of her.
The Jenny one is nice too. Perhaps a b&w conversion? You could leave the earrings red and see how that works. It might be a tad "in your face" or cheap looking, but they're so bold, that it might be worth a go.

Nice shots all in all for me. How'd you get involved?
