    Quick question.

I'm going to Ireland V Colombia in Craven Cottage tomorrow evening and have been asked to work.

Had already booked Ryanair so am only bringing the D3 and 300mm in my hand luggage and wonder will the monopod be a problem in Dublin?

Anyone any experience or would I be beter off picking up a cheap one in London?

Cheap one in UK I reckon.

I went over to Scotland a few weeks back, and had to take all (And I mean a lot) my gear out, and put it through the x-ray individually - It was looked over fairly tightly.

London airports are pretty picky too. Not worth losing a good monopod over. Worst case scenario, you end up with a second monopod ;)

Yep, to cover the game and get a few fans shots pre and post match.

Also have another client who wants action shots of selected players so the trip is a nice earner all around.

Fajitas, looks like I'll end up with one of those cheap argos or maplins version with the stupid head :pac:

Been almost 3 years, (where does the time go!), but I never had a problem going between the UK & Ireland with either a monopod or a tripod.

Enjoy the game. Craven Cottage is a proper football ground.

Rennes made me check in my monopod whcih is why it's got a stupid luggage label stuck to it. Lisbon didn't bother. Dublin didn't either.

I always bring my tripod or monopod on the plane with me and there is never a problem. If you have a way of strapping it to your bag they then know what it is.
