Didn't know where to post this (figure in Belfast region wasn't right to be asking locals about tours:D)

Heading up this weekend and not sure which to do? Input from those who done either?

Also wanting to go to Giant's Causeway, looks like coastal way is the way to go - plan a day for all that say Sunday and a city tour Monday?

I'm having a day of indecision!! Oh, not driving up till Saturday morning

I did the Open Bus tours and thought the very good and well balanced for both sides. But would have loved to have dine the black cab one

Black cab tours are very popular. I've been on one and found it quite good, was never on a bus. You can also walk or drive yourself but then you miss out on the inside scoop from the drivers.

yeah, that is what we figured, get all the low down. And while I'm good at reading maps, I get a bit tired of it (I do share the driving though!)

I done both 2 Summers ago and have to reccommend the black-cab being honest.

When on the bus you have no choice of when to stop and they weren't that accurate, i thought ...
but the cab then basicly brought us anywhere and everywhere we thought of and even to places i never dreamt at the time of seeing.

Our driver spent about 4-5hours with us and only charged us half the ging rate (at the time) because we were going for so long and he took s to places he thought we'd like as opposed to what we asked to see.

We went everywhere like past the peacewall and stopped to sign it; out to the dock to see 'Sampson & Goliath' were and even in around the Shankhill estate to see some savage meurals that were not repeated elsewhere.

Defo thumbs up for the Black-Cab :)

Thanks for that info, really appreciate it. I guess it depends how much 'history' you want or if you just want to see specific things. I read in Lonely Planet that there are two types of cabs, ones with Orange and Green discs...and you wait till a cab is full before going off on the tour, but that may be a bit out of date. Think we will do it the Monday, so not so much of a tourist day up there as long weekend is only here. thanks again! this board is a great rescource
