We've got the God Channel and Islam TV etc so is there an Atheist tv channel on cable etc? I'm aware of the web based broadcasts just curious if there are other media available.

I don't really think that would work, because Evangelising without anything to evangalise isnt going to make money.

So there isnt one???? I think it could prove reasonably popular though. It wouldn't make the BBC break a sweat or anything, but a TV channel showing talks by the likes of Dawkins, Harris, Hitchens etc would be of interest to me anyway. Debates on a variety of subjects could be part of the program listing as well as documentaries dealing with subjects such as Evolution and scientific progress. If a channel showed the A.A.I convention I'd watch it.

We have the Discovery and Nat Geographic channels for science and nature, and the internet for any specialised "conference" stuff.

As SDooM says, you can't run a channel without having a large enough demograph - preferably one with a demand for related products & services.

The "Brights" seem the most likely candidates for a cable show.

So you think that there arent enough Atheists and Agnostics the world over to justify a channel? Dont know about that tbh. As for watching "conference stuff" on the internet, that sucks. I hate watching things on my pc / laptop as I'm sure many other people do too.

Its not that there isn't enough. There's bajillions of people who don't believe in a god. The issue I'd see is that there is nothing that binds atheiostics together really- besides the lack of belief. Science channels already exist, so all thats left is a really niche demographic of people who want to see Dawkins etc.

Isn't every channel other than things like the God Channel, atheist TV?

So now when someone mentions the crusades or something, I can say 'Atheists are responsible for Big Brother'! :D

Just tune your TV to the static between two channels - there's your atheist TV channel. :pac:

Nah - whenever there's a truthful science-related program on TV, that's all I need to see. I don't need my own channel. Besides, there are folks who say that the Discovery Channel is atheist propaganda. (Examples here, here, & here)

Surely anyone who believed in hell wouldn't dare inflict the blight that is Big Brother on his fellow man!

Wow, they actually went on about neanderthals. Why has the interpretation oh the neanderthal changed over time? Simple, because palaeontology can admit to making errors.

There are a few different cables you can get to hook a laptop or PC to a tv set. (depending on the connections your tv/pc has

I'm using a simple S video cable for the picture and the PC Speakers for the sound. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S-Video

Different set ups would need different cables, you should ask on the computers subforum or go into maplin/pc world
