BHAA beach Race

ESB Beach 5km race at Sandymount strand at 7.30pm.

Registration and changing facilities at Clanna Gael/Fontenoy GAA Club nearby. This is on the road that leads down to the East Link toll bridge.

Further details available from Charlie Cronin - 7027290 or Sean Brophy - 7026873.

The course starts up near the Ringsend end of the beach, goes up around the old swimming pool, back towards the start, around a marker, back again around the pool and then straight on up to the finish beside the start. It is likely to be a bit splashy in parts so you should probably wear your oldest running shoes. I don't think spikes would be suitable as stretches of the course are a bit stony.

Just to give people the heads up on this race according to my experience, It was horrible, when the tide goes out it leaves clumps of sand, picture running on cobbles, I doubt there would be any pbs, I only ran it once and refused to ever run it again, nothing against the bhaa just this paticular race

Last years weather made this race very hard going. It is usually a great event and if the weather is nice is great fun. It is actually my favouritre BHAA run.

You are right in saying you won´t run a pb though. Its on the beach and I usually run 60 to 90 seconds slower than normal
