    Hi,

Enclosed are two screenshots. These flights are for next Friday (6th of June) until Monday (9th of June) 2008.

Flight from Dublin to Liverpool @ €24.99 PER PERSON. €45 additional Tax.

Flight returning from Liverpool to Dublin @ €14.99 PER PERSON. €71 additional Tax.

Can some one please explain to me why the returning flights (€14.99 pp) contain more tax than the outgoing ones?

    Cheers.

Taxes (not really taxes) are charges levied by the departing airport/government. It's €22.94 to fly out of Dublin, ~£30 to fly out of Liverpool. I think both flat fees, regardless of price of flight.

It varies from airport to airport. It's not a tax though, as in from the government, it's just a usage fee from the airport to Ryanair to park their planes there and they also get charged for each passenger that they have on each flight as well.

Oh, and the €0.50 for using a wheelchair, which you have to pay as well, I think is slightly higher once converted and rounded to GBP for the UK airports, but that is a Ryanair charge and not an airport one.

You get charged UK government tax when leaving a UK airport. Not sure how much it is though. I think it's £5 or £10.

I have recently got charged a total of €62.27 in taxes and fees for leaving Bristol airport and €67.73 for leaving Birmingham.

Liverpool is clearly an expensive airport to get away from.
